Pink and Navy Master Bedroom

Pink and Navy Master Bedroom

A master bedroom should be a safe haven, a place where we can shut the world out at the end of the day and recharge. It should feel tranquil and calming, allowing us to truly relax.

Have a look at this design board for a master bedroom that I am currently working on for a client. We decided on a colour palette of blue and pink. Although the overall feel of the room is feminine, the blue tones add a masculine touch to the space, especially the navy blue. Classic silhouettes with modern updates will keep this room fresh and timeless for years to come. Not all master bedrooms are large enough for a sofa, but my client’s room has enough space to place a beautiful pink sofa at the foot of the bed – the perfect spot to enjoy the fireplace. The king-size bed is outstanding and makes for a fabulous focal point upon entering the room. Plenty of silver accents are the finishing touch to the room, along with artwork that brings the pink and navy together.

When creating your own bedroom retreat, think about what colours are calming for you personally, and build your own colour palette. Plush bedding and pillows provide a hotel feel. I always suggest some form of seating in a bedroom. An accent chair is great, but if you don’t have the space, a bench looks great at the foot of the bed and will take up much less room than a sofa. If you have a small room I suggest using a headboard only, as the footboard takes up more space and can make the room feel crowded. Surround yourself with what you love so that every day you can begin and end your day with happiness.
