Who doesn’t know the iconic Barbie doll? I’m sure many of us owned a Barbie growing up and spent many hours changing her outfits and doing her hair. A little history for you, Barbie was first created by Mattel back in March of 1959. The creator, Ruth Handler, gave the doll the name Barbie after her daughter, Barbara Segal. So what does all this have to do with a stunning penthouse? When Barbara Segal was selling her Los Angeles penthouse, designer Nicole Sassaman, who has a great affection for Barbie, purchased the amazing space. Throughout the home there are images and Barbie dolls that Nicole displays to honour the famous doll.
I not only loved the penthouse but also the story that goes along with it. I was especially drawn to the kitchen, which at first glance doesn’t look like a kitchen at all. Her use of chrome, marble and mirror add refined glamour to the space. I’m sure if Barbie were real she would definitely approve!
