Palm Springs

Well the holidays are officially done, the kids are back in school and it’s time to get back into a routine. It’s always a little sad when Christmas time is over but it’s also an exciting time with a new year and new goals to fulfill. I always find myself thinking about vacations in January. How can you not when winter is in full force. I’ve been dreaming of a holiday, not sure where I want to go but definitely somewhere hot.

Palm Springs

All this dreaming of a vacation has me thinking about our time in Palm Springs last summer. I thought I would do a review for those of you who need a warm getaway as much as I do.

Palm Springs

Palm springs is a great choice, it was our first time there and so glad that we went. We went in August, which has its pros and cons. Pros – August is low season, which means lower prices and not too many crowds. The major con would be the heat, I like the heat but wow was it ever hot. It’s doable but don’t expect to do a lot of walking or anything other than lounging in the pool.

Overall our experience at the hotel we stayed at was unbelievable. We stayed at the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs and I couldn’t have been happier with that choice. I was a little nervous at first that it wouldn’t be very child friendly but my expectations were exceeded.

From the moment you walk into the lobby you feel transported to another time. There was so much attention to detail put into the design of the hotel. The Parker Palm Springs was designed by the famous Jonathan Adler and it rocks a mid century vibe which Palm Springs is known for.

Beyond the impeccable design of the interiors was the hotel grounds. The hotel boasts 2 pools, one for families and one for adults, a tennis court, golf, bowling, croquet, chess, ping pong, lemonade stand and my favourite spot – the fire pit. The hotel has thought of everything. You can even make smores by the fire pit which we did and my boys saw their very first shooting star!

The Parker Palm Springs has 2 restaurants, Norma’s and Mister Parker’s and they were both great.

Other great points about the hotel is the proximity to everything, your are seriously a 5 minute drive from the airport, 10 minutes to downtown and 5 minutes to the infamous Pink door!

What a great trip, I can’t wait to go back. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
