black and white bedroom!
I’m so excited to share this black and white bedroom on the blog today! This bedroom actually belongs to my two boys. It is one of my favourite rooms in the house!
It was a sad day when I had to change the nursery into a big boys bedroom but I love the way this little room turned out.
My boys love anything soccer so I told them the colour scheme of their room was going to be just like a soccer ball – black and white! So they totally went for it.
I wanted to create a room that they can grow up in, not something just for now. It is so important to remember that when creating rooms for little ones. Kids grow up and grow out of things! This room could easily transition with them as they get older by simply changing out the accessories.
classic and timeless
The foundation of this room is classic and timeless. I added a some whimsical touches with the Batman alarm clock and Clarke the wall hanging black stag. By adding whimsical touches, you can take a sophisticated palette and make it more fun and interesting.
Have fun with textures and patterns! How great is the accent wall? Sometimes all it takes is one feature wall with a stunning wallpaper to create big impact. This wallpaper, Imperial Trellis, is from the Kelly Wearstler collection for Schumacher. You can read more about the designer in this post. When I found the black circle fabric , I knew I had to use it since it had such a playful feel to it. My absolute favourite pattern is the Schumacher Iconic Leopard. I have always wanted to use it and it fit so well in the black and white scheme, as well it had a fun young vibe to it.
Designing kids rooms is so much fun! I enjoyed creating this space for my boys and seeing how much they love it means I’ve done a good job.
Would love to see your comments on this black and white bedroom!
